La Liga

La Liga, or LaLiga Santander due to sponsorship, is the top tier of Spanish professional football, featuring 20 teams in an annual competition from August to May. The clubs play home and away matches, aiming to accumulate the most points to win the national title. The top four teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League, while the 5th and 6th placed teams head to the UEFA Europa League. The bottom three are relegated to the second division. Known for its high technical level, fierce rivalries like “El Clásico” between Real Madrid and Barcelona, and hosting some of the world’s greatest football talents, La Liga is one of the most popular and widely watched leagues globally.
